Purpose and Reason:

The Department of Human Services has updated this rule to comply with the passage of the Rhode Island State Budget for Fiscal Year 2024. The passage of the budget has increased the State Supplemental Payment for individuals who qualify for payment based on Category E living arrangements, from $20 per month to $45 per month. This increase to the payment was effective July 1st, 2023.

Brief statement of Reason for Finding Imminent Peril:

The change to this regulation increases the personal needs allowance for those residents of Title XIX Facilities and was in effect July1st, 2023.
